Before this fall, I had been to Rome twice, with not much luck. On my first visit, I had taken a fall in Florence, managing to wind myself up in the emergency room in Rome. At that time, I walked out of the ER with a 10 euro feel, for the x-rays only, after having two visits and a plaster cast put on my broken foot. The second visit, a few years later, ended up with some heavy drinking and bronchitis spread on an earlier trip and left me bed ridden for a portion of Italy.
This fall, my good friend had suggested a return to Italy, and so we ventured to Rome for five days and Naples for another four.
